The site itself sits on the edge of Garstang, on the west side of Cockerham Road. Garstang is a market town in the Borough of Wyre, Lancashire, situated approximately equidistant between Preston to the south and Lancaster to the north. The settlement straddles the A6, which runs parallel to the M6 motorway to the east. To the east of the M6, the land rises to the fells of the Forest of Bowland Natural Landscape. To the west, the land falls gently towards Fleetwood, Blackpool, and the coast.
