Read the dark soil edge beneath the green surface. Turf extends over the thick walls between rooms and down the outer banks, joining the buildings to the ground.

Pale window frames stand out against vertical boards on both ends of the houses. Rough stone marks the feet of the earth walls. Choose Rear to see the back gables, or Plan with the roofs lifted to follow the passage between rooms.

The meadow rises behind the houses into a rocky green bank. A level foreground keeps the rhythm of doors, windows and grass-covered ridges clear.

Reading the photographs

The first reference brings the turf down almost to the doorways, with silvered boards and thick, shaggy roof edges. The second shows a more continuous group: dark gables of different sizes, pale window frames and stone piers beneath a rolling hillside.

This study combines those visible relationships. Its room arrangement, dimensions and landscape are interpretations; the map marks Iceland as the regional reference.
