Arrive at floor level from the higher bank. The clearing falls away beneath the house, turning an ordinary doorway into a crossing through the trees.

Keep the roof low and the cladding vertical. A long glazed face opens the living space to the deck; a quieter solid end gives the cabin a sense of enclosure.

Let the deck become a room in its own right. Extend one end of the roof over a sheltered corner, leaving the rest open to the canopy and evening sky.

Slender posts and diagonal braces make the raised platform legible. This study places the cabin on independent stilts among the trees, with the trunks passing beside the building.

Reading the references

The five supplied photographs suggest a consistent pattern: a horizontal timber cabin held above the ground, a generous railed deck, a darker folded roof and warm openings within dense foliage.

The bridge creates the arrival sequence. The close-up supplies the finer grain: vertical boards, expressed posts, fine balustrade infill and the overlap between indoor living and a sheltered outdoor bath.
